I use NEO for domains and there is a 3rd party addon to connect whmcs to NEO but it's never worked. The domain checker has never worked consistently, with or without the NEO addon. Whmcs admin area is just convoluted as are the cart pages - site navigation.

I mostly do a little bit of web design and am one person so I don't really need anything but whm/cpanel but it's nice to have some things automated and have the client management system be the same as the cpanel management system.

Finally I hit the search engine for "whmcs alternatives" and ended up on webhostingtalk where I found a list of pretty much all of them. Anything from free to hundreds or thousands of dollars. One comment said "if you must go with open source/free, go with boxbilling" so here I am.

Installation; Just like the WordPress famous five minute install. Couldn't be easier. Configuration; NEO, paypal and Stripe are built in. Perfect Admin area; Clean and easy to navigate. Features; has most of the same as whmcs only more basic. Not a bad thing really. Themes; Not many but they look nice and I did find the bootstrap theme on github. Perfect since my main site, which is WordPress, runs a bootstrap theme.

Installed it last night and checked it out a bit. Then this morning, within a couple of hours, I has Stripe, PayPal and NEO working in sandbox/test mode and it all works. That's one up from whmcs.

As for the future, it's hard to tell what's going on here. Seems like musicboxset has taken over boxbilling. The forums are pretty dead. It kind of bothers me that most forum posts have no replies.

The forum search function is broken so I imagine it will be the same on my install? Finally ended up with google using the site: search feature.

The script is almost perfect. The community, not very active. I think if someone came on the forums and started answering people more often, it might become more popular. I imagine a lot of people install it, come here to ask a question and get no response so they uninstall it.

That's true, some post did actually have more than 300 Views or even 500. But, nobody answering people. I just hope forum become more active and I'm sure this script going "HUUGE". :V

Unfortunately, we do not have that big of a community that wishes to help each other, staff on BoxBilling only respond to Pre-Sales tickets & Pro License holders only queries via tickets.
